Susan has accrued over 30 years experience in the fashion and retail industry, managing, merchandising and marketing for retail businesses in New York, Connecticut, and Los Angeles.

She held the position of Fashion and Public Relations Director for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Connecticut for 9 years and served as Acting Director of the Fifth Avenue Club in Beverly Hills, California. She was also Director of the Personal Shopping Department of Bloomingdale’s in Los Angeles for 5 years.

Susan has also been a professor at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles since 1999. She teaches History of Costume, Merchandise Trend Analysis, Consumer Behavior and Promotions.

Presently, she is the Fashion Editor of Palm Springs Life Magazine and served as Regional Director of Fashion Group International^® of Palm Springs and Desert Communities from 2004 to 2009.

She is the Creative Director of Fashion Week El Paseo in Palm Desert, California. Now in it’s 8th year, this event, created by Palm Springs Life Magazine, has grown from 2 events to 10 events in one week in the “big white fashion tents” with over 70 street wide events in El Paseo businesses. Fashion Week 2012 entertained over 11,000 guests.

Through her consulting business, FASHIONCONNECTION! by Susan Stein, she provides a unique service that produces, communicates, and connects “all things fashion."
